I am not accepting custom requests at this time. I will stock on Hyena Cart as I have openings available.

A little unexpectedness

Such is life! I got a call from my big brother yesterday informing me that he was going to be coming up from VA either tonight or tomorrow morning. And staying as late as Wednesday. Oh! Ok! Umm.... So I look around and see cluttered piles scattered about and think how the bathrooms need cleaning and the whole house just needs a pick up and cleaning overall. Then I look at my knitting list. Shoot. What's a girl to do? Well I'm observing that life won't stop so I can knit and am taking relief in the fact that fall isn't here yet. Those longies will be at your doorstep before we have any frost, I promise ladies! Unless of course we have some freakish frost spell in August - and then that wouldn't count. ;)

I'm going to work on what I can while he's here. Right now on the needles I have Keli's Dogwood capris. They just need some legs and they'll be all set. And the At the Zoo longies are 85% complete. They just need a second leg. So we're looking good. I'm waiting on some various measurements from some of you and once I get them I'll be able to keep moving through the list in order.

Some good news to report - I heard from Wooly Wonders by Nada, my yarn is en route from Canada! *happy dance!* I can't wait to barrage you with photos when it arrives. My yarn stash is currently a work in progress right now. I have taken photos of what I have and will organize them in a couple galleries. One gallery that will be available to chose from for customs. And I'll keep a second gallery for yarn that I plan to use for Hyena Cart stockings. Keep your peepers peeled!

"Elliot"

This is Western Sky Knits colorway "Elliot" kettle dyed style on 3ply purwool merino. They are on the way as I type to their new home!

Right now I'm working on the Dogwood capris's and the "Free for Shipping" At the Zoo colorway. Both are working up beautifully! Can't wait to share...

"Giraffe"

Can I keep these? Pretty please? I wish! They went out in the mail on Thursday, Meg. I hope you enjoy them!

The colorway is "Giraffe" dyed by Dyeing to Fly. Honestly, working with such amazing yarn from so many talented WAHM's makes this job so enjoyable!

Where we're at

The "Giraffe" longies are complete and drying for Meg as we speak. I can't wait to show you the completed photo of them. So lovely! I'm moving through to the "Elliot" semi-custom from Hyena Cart. Sorry we're going out of order! I can't start without yarn or measurements, wink-wink!

In other news, I had a heck of a morning. Jackson is having swim lessons at the YMCA. He did SO great Monday and Tuesday. I was totally having proud mommy moments. He was the bravest kid jumping right in the pool. Listened great to the teachers and all. Today I swear he woke up on the wrong side of the bed. We got there and suddenly he did a 180. There was no getting him in the pool. We ended up leaving - I was defeated. I hope tomorrow he does better. These lessons weren't free! Any tips on coaxing him back? I don't know why he changed him mind so fast. Gotta love 3 year olds...

time frames

As I'm knitting along through my customs I'm seeing that I did not allow for enough time for each project. I guess this is part of the learning process for me as I start out as a new WAHM. Sometimes projects run quite smooth and I can fly right through them. And other times, well, not so much. Kids can get sick, I can get sick, we could have company. I mistakenly did not account for that when I listed the start dates on my customs list. What I did was add a couple more days in for each custom slot. It did not significantly change much for those July customs, but as we go through August, at most it added one more week of a wait to those mamas toward the end of the list. I'm so sorry! What I am hopeful for is that you might end up being surprised with your custom being completed sooner than expected. I just needed to add in extra days for when projects aren't running as smooth. Thanks so much for your understanding.

Bugsnugger's "Yeps" complete

All dressed up with it's drawstring. It just looked so incomplete without it. This is definitely one of my new favorite colorways. I'll be keeping my eye out for it for Liam for next summer. So cheery and fun looking!

Here is a photo of how Dyeing to Fly's "Giraffe" colorway is knitting up. Why do I fall in love with all the things I make for others? It makes it so hard to sell it. I originally wanted to keep this colorway to make something for Liam. I'll have to get my hands on more I think! Meg, if they get lost in the mail, umm, they're lost. yeah. ;) I took this yesterday so I'm a little further along now. Another inch to go on the first leg. I'm seeing I'm cutting it close on my schedule so I better get hopping!

Spam filters and other updates

Well it appears that email filters think I'm spam! One of the folks who purchased a YYMN slot with me wasn't getting my emails. We've got it sorted out now, but I'm curious if that's occurring for anyone else who thinks they haven't heard from. Add dwellwoolknits@gmail to your address book to make sure you can receive emails from me! I'm not spam, I promise. ;) I've heard back with everyone so far except for the "At the Zoo" semi-custom lottery winner. Yoo-hoo! I don't want you to miss out on this wonderful deal! :)

I've finished Bugsuggers "Yeps" for Shannon and they will ship out Friday. I took a photo but hadn't finished the drawstring. They'll need another quick photo shoot before heading out the door along with your "Goldfish" shorties tomorrow, Shannon. :)

In other news I will be donating a semi-custom slot for fall longies for a charity auction being held for Katie of "Ewe Need It." It was the least I could do to help in some practical way. My heart just aches for Katie and her family. She's gone through so much. You can read about Katie and her family on her website here.

Please take part with us at Peanutbutter and Ellie Baby on July 22nd for an auction and raffle to help this family!

This is the gorgeous yarn I will have available for the semi-custom slot. Teresa, the creative mama of In Stitches dyed this gorgeous yarn called "Run Fox, Run." I can't wait to get it started!

Lastly, I'm currently busying myself with Meg's custom longies. Dyeing to Fly's "Giraffe" and then Southwest Spectrum "Rainbow Quartz." I hope to finish them by the end of the weekend.

Sell out!

Seriously, I'm am in a state of shock. I can not believe I sold out in under 2 hours. Thank you SO much to those who supported me!!!! That was fun and I can't wait to do it again!

In the meanwhile I've got plenty of knitting to do for customs I've had waiting and then for those slots that sold on Hyena Cart.

I'm excited to be getting my custom order from Wooly Wonders by Nada real soon here. They said everything was dry and getting ready to ship. Then I am taking part of a co op for Mosiac Moon so I'll have a few colorways to offer for fall/winter longies.

Here is my progress on Shannon's trade. Bugsnugger's "Yeps."

Phew! I did it!

Well, at least I finished knitting everything for my Hyena Cart grand opening. I'm not saying "I did it," officially until at least one thing sells!

I'm a little anxious to be honest! It's been hard work, albeit fun, to get to this point of opening my store. So many good friends have helped me a long the way. Thank you! You know who you are!

And to the mamas who wanted to do collaborations with me, thank you!!! Lindsey, the cupcake shirt to match the "Cake" longies is so adorable. Thank you SO much for creating that. I can't wait to see the cute little girl who will wear that. You are so creative! And Krissy, I got the Goodmama diaper and dress in the mail today to go with the "Maren" capris. A.maz.ing! You are such a talented dyer! Dyeist? Dyeing extraordinare? Not sure what you call it, but you rock. :)

So I'm trying to figure out what to do during my stocking time tomorrow. I feel like I don't want to be home! I think I'll take the boys out to the library for storytime (if the current runny noses magically clear up overnight!) or just go out for a walk before lunch. I seriously have the butterflies!

I was knitting all.day.long yesterday to finish up the "Cake" longies, I think I actually wounded my index finger! I've got a good callous going on anyway. I need some good knitting balm!

Well back to work tonight on my customs. I'm working on a YYMN right now with Bugsnuggers "Yeps" yarn. It's so adorable! I'll get a progress photo tomorrow to share.

Here's what I'm stocking on Hyena Cart tomorrow. The goldfish shorties are stocking too, along with an awesome "Free For Shipping" semi-custom using Western Sky Knits fabulous "At the Zoo" colorway. Wish me luck! Or better yet, buy something! Dwell Wool Knits on Hyena Cart

****drum roll**** counting down... DWK's Grand Opening!!!

I completed the first of a few things that will stock on my grand opening on July 15th.

Dashing Dach's famous "Goldfish" on BFL!

Exciting?

In the works is a little sumthin' sumthin' Krissy from color.me.crazy and I are working on using a goodmama diaper and Western Sky Knits "Maren" colorway. :) You are going to faint! I was so excited when she asked to do a collaboration with me. She is so talented! I'll have a wonderful free-for-shipping item too.

Hope to see you there on Hyena Cart!

updates

Where have I been!?

OK, so I've been busy working. It's been a little more difficult the past few days though, because apparently with all my luck I came home from CA with vertigo! Yay! Not really. I feel like I've finally gotten back to east coast time and the dizziness is starting to subside. I've been a knitting fool every spare moment I find when the boys aren't needing me.

I'm glad to say that the TSA did not confiscate my knitting needles when I went through security. Woo hoo! It would have been a very long and boring flight had they.. They let me take scissors too! Shocking. Anyway, while gone on my trip I finished these board shorties for Liam that I've been working on forever. Kim of Western Sky Knits dyed up it up for me. I just love her! The colorway is called "Beach." I am in love with it! I'm a beach girl if you know me so these colors just call to me, and will be perfect on my little beach bum boy.

In progress and almost complete is "Kelp Forest" and "Salt Water Taffy" for Bella. Leidy of Western Sky Knits dyed these colorways up for my customer. So kind of her! Here's a peek of Kelp Forest ~ they still need their cargo pockets and drawstring. I'm about 2 inches down the first leg of Salt Water Taffy, so these should be finished up this weekend and on their way to their new home in Ireland by Tuesday. Yay!
