I am not accepting custom requests at this time. I will stock on Hyena Cart as I have openings available.

sick update

Well we've all been infected with the flu here. Symptoms started last Friday and I've tried to tough 'em out. I think I'm through the worst of it. I definitely feel the best today than I have in a week. Jackson though, my 4 y/o, just was diagnosed with pneumonia. So if things are crawling around here you know why. I'll keep you posted and appreciate your positive thoughts.

Pay it Forward

I may be a day late in posting, but it's not too late to let you know that on Universal Mama we are paying it forward. Through the week you will have your chance to enter in a lottery to win a $100 shopping spree! $50 goes to you and you can choose whoever you'd like to send the other $50. You can enter until Friday.

Also, my dear friend Lindsey and I have teamed up to offer a totally FREE wool set! It's a size nb/small and perfect for the upcoming holiday's - or anytime for that matter! Drawing ends Wed at 10 p.m.

Lastly I am offering Family Root's newest colorway "Songbird" knit into size medium longies. They'll be perfect for the holiday's I think!

Dwell Wool Knits... and Silly Stripes?!

Yes! That is my surprise! (Which I meant to post yesterday but we're all sick as dogs so I have an excuse.)

Monica of Little Bear Knitwear asked me if I would be interested in becoming licensed to knit Silly Stripes™ for her store Silly Stripes Shoppe on Hyena Cart.

Let me think....

um, YES!

I'm excited to branch out in this direction. I won't be abandoning Dwell Wool Knits in any way. You will still see me stocking at Universal Mama and hopefully more in my DWK shop (if I ever catch up!)

So I'll be joining Aimee of Jade Gaia and Monica on the first of each month in the Silly Stripes Shoppe. Please won't you join us?

Here is a sampling of our offerings this month. Don't miss the stocking at 12 p.m. EST today!

Stocking Monday!

At Universal Mama the gals will be celebrating a Fall Festival. Tia from Julibeans, Lindsey from Cake and myself teamed up to present you with a special collaboration. :) Tia sent me the sweetest colorway, her own "Apple Fest" on Blue Faced Leicester wool. Perfection! I knit it up into some longies and Lindsey designed the sweetest top for it. How sweet is this?!

A premiere!

A favorite yarn-dyeing, pattern-writing, wool-knitting extraordinaire is having a premier tonight. You've known Lindsay as Ky Baby Knits, but now they've grown up and have become Family Roots Fiber! Keep an eye out! The new face of Ky Baby will be premiering tonight. I heard a rumor there's going to be some goodies!

Lindsay is the creator of the Hudson Hat™ which I am a licensed knitter of, and she also is the creator of many wonderful colorways.

Some of my favorite are these...

A collaboration you don't want to miss

I've admired Nissi's work for some time and was super excited when she agreed to join Universal Mama as a special guest and join me for a collaboration. Working with other WAHM's is one of my favorite things about this job. Seeing their creatively joined with my knits takes the cake. So don't miss Universal Mama on Monday to see what Sapo Verde will have to offer!

Together, Nissi and I bring you an outfit suited to great Autumn in style. Mosaic Moon's "Winter Pear" inspired this set and we hope you enjoy it! (and share pictures so I can live vicariously through you having a daughter while I don't!)

Monday at 10 p.m. on Universal Mama.

So did you see?

Did you see anything new at DWK? It has been there for a few weeks, I just have not had time to acknowledge and thank the great mama who helped me get my own little spot on the webz. A big thank you to Tia from Julibeans! Besides being an talented artisan, she also is a fancy pants graphic and web designer! I had all the necessities there, but Tia helped me with some simplification I'd been craving from some time and created a home page for me. Here it *officially* is! Dwell Wool Knits HOMEPAGE!

Part of the simplification you'll experience is the top bar of links. You can check my shop, peruse my galleries, see where I'm at with customs and read my policies. So now everything you want to know about me is easy to check out. Cool BEANS huh? So what this all means is I'm no longer going to have a customs status on the blog. Why have to edit info in two places right? So if you have a custom with me I encourage you to keep updated there, and you can always contact me to see what's up.

Thanks for all the support you've given me this past year and some change! I look forward to what the next year will bring!

And since I can't post without a picture, check out the yummy yarn that recently arrived. <3

Mosaic Moon "Selah"

You'll be seeing that knit up in the next month as part of a fantastic collaboration! It's super secret right now. :)

Who's in the mood to some some woolies I recently finished up?

I just finished up these sweet little Elliebelly Scrappy longies. They're waiting in the mailbox to head to their home as I type!

These happy shorties were a treat to knit up. It's Wooly Wonder by Nada's "Finnegan" colorway. I favorite of mine!

These "Chocolate Biscotti" longies, dyed by Ky Baby Knits recently stocked on Universal Mama. If they were a little bigger I would have loved to have saved them for Liam!

Lots to talk about!

I have good reasons for my lack of blogging, pinky swear! ;)

First and most exciting, I'd like to announce a new addition to the World Wide Web. Dwell Wool Knits homepage! Everything you need it at your fingertips from this page. On the home page notice the link for Facebook? Become a fan and you will be kept up to date on any stockings or current events. Want to check your custom progress? See my gallery of work? Read my policies? Contact me via email? It's all nice and easy, or at least I think so. I'd love your feedback if you have any!

So what am I up to? I'm working on some customs and also something to look forward to stocking on Universal Mama on August 3rd. We'll be remembering Woodstock, so you're not going to want to miss this!

Also in August I'll be taking on a list for those of you who'd like Hudson Hats™ this fall/winter. So keep your eyes open!

Seriously though, isn't it amazing!

Ever feel like this?

I am feeling like I'm trying to run up the downward moving escalator. Maybe it's the holiday? The summer schedule? Or maybe it's because I've had a couple projects that don't want to cooperate! *trantrum* I knit, knit, knit... only to find I need to pull it all back out. *pout* So mamas - I know you are waiting for your customs. Please take heart. I want them to be perfect for you and do really feel awful for this wait you're enduring. Once I start a project I'm usually done in 2-3 days max. I've been arguing with these projects and it's taking me longer than I anticipated. So thank you for enduring. You are the bestest.

A grand opening

The Queen of Silly Stripes™ is having a grand opening on Hyena Cart on Friday! Monica of Little Bear Knitwear is a dear friend so naturally I was ecstatic when she asked me to be her guest at her store opening on Hyena Cart. You will find some beautiful knits by Monica available tomorrow at 3:30pm. You'll have to see!

Here's a look at what I'll be offering for the celebration.

So head on over and check it out!

Is it Friday already?

Wow. That was a fast week! I think? I felt like it was slow amidst it? Well I'm wrapping things up left and and right. Earlier this week these capris went to their new home. I felt SO lucky to knit this up! It's Elliebelly's "Rebecca's Kitchen" on Naiad Organic Merino. Yum. Yum. Yum. Lindsay of Cake. did the amazing top. So cute! Really makes me wish we had a girl.

After Jackson's soccer game I'll be heading to the post office tomorrow to ship a scrappy wonder soaker off to Canada. ;) I just finished up the Union Center Knits "Stars" longies won in a benefit auction. Thank you for supporting that! Currently I'm working up some sweet newborn longies in Elliebelly's "Emile's Kitchen." I seem to be knitting the kitchen series right now don't I?? I'll be starting on the customs from my recent stocking. I expect to be busy with those customs the remainder of this month and through July. I made a little note at the top of the blog there that I"m closed to requests for customs. I really hate to do that. But you don't know how it pains me to say no. :( I do plan to take on customs on a monthly basis and work that way from here on out. We'll see how that works out from here on out. Thank you so much for supporting wahm-made and helping me stay home with my littles!

Busy Weekend

Hi all! I've been plugging away here getting lots done! In the mix of things life has been good. Jackson had his first soccer practice! It was *hilarious*. For his first time he did well I think. The funniest thing is that in the middle of their game a plane flew overhead and dropped some skydivers. There's a small airport near the field so there's a few planes that go overhead during the time there. Well - nothing stops a game faster than cool planes and skydivers! The all just suddenly stop and stare up, pointing into the sky. Hahaha! So much for focus. ;)

Jackson is in the white shirt - team shirts to come! We have another practice on Tuesday. So does this mean I'm now a soccer mom???

In knitty news I've been pretty productive! Yay! I can't help that I have had the most awesome yarn to work with. :)

Here is Western Sky Knits "Orson" in a pair of cool shorties for a mama. She sent the yarn and I am SO loving it! Need to get my hands on more of this colorway...

Finished a newborn set with Western Sky Knits "Choco Rainbow."

And just off the needles (and still drying) is Mosaic Moon's "Irish Meadows." Looove this colorway!

This week I'll be working on the Elliebelly/Cake collab with "Rebecca's Kitchen" and hope to be able to complete the scrappy soaker custom plus start a project from my waiting list so I'll be ready to take on some more customs next week. For those of you who have been trying to get a slot here's a chance to do so! On Monday next week I'll be stocking some "your yarn, my needles" and some customs from my stash! Ya heard it here first! ;)
