Keeping busy here...

First and foremost, THANK YOU so much for such a wonderful stocking at Universal Mama last week!!! It was a total success and sell out. I love you all! :)

I'm sad to say that I haven't had a lot of time to keep up with blogging and emailing, but trust me, I'm keeping busy! Our laptop's battery died and only works when plugged into the wall. Apparently we can't reset the date/time so it thinks it's in 2006 and any site that uses a security certificate won't let me log on. Gmail being on of them so I'm sorry that I'm slower with emailing back and updating here.

So to play catch up here are a few customs I've finished up this past week...

The saga of Snow Blossom being one them! I had gone to visit my brother and his family in VA for New Year's and left Snow Blossom there half completed. Gaah! Luckily I had an extra skein and trim so I could knit up a new pair of newborn longies for that UM stocking I had. When the original pair arrived back they needed a home after I completed them. I'm glad to say that went to a very special new sweetie named Kate! Glad they found a good home.

This week I finally finished up Yarnoodles "Munki Sushi" for a trade that I'm very much looking forward to with Lauren of Apple Bottom Baby.

My first double ruffles! Phew!

Lastly I completed Selah's "Maui Wowie" for a custom. Enjoy them Christia!

Well I better get to work now while the boys are asleep!

A big announcement and a teeny tiny stocking

Ok, are you ready for this??? Drumroll please........

I have been invited to join the amazing artisans at Universal Mama!!! *screaming!* I know! Exciting! Isn't it?! :D Well I'm excited anyway. ;)

For the first stocking I will be a part of it is devoted to newborns. Could there be a more perfect way to welcome in the new year? No. I don't think so. One of my favorite people, Lindsey from Cake., and I talked and teamed up to create a couple fun collaborations for a baby girl and for a baby boy (or gender neutral!)

One is using Mosaic Moon's bulky organic merino dyed in "Snow Blossom." Isn't it sweet? I think it's just perfect for a winter/spring baby!

Then I knit up Nurturing Threads "Iced Giraffes" and there is nothing icy about them! It's dyed on Organic Bulky Arai Merino which is just luxurious for a new baby! So smooth.

Aren't they so cute together!

You can have your chance to purchase them tonight at 10 p.m. at Universal Mama.

I'm almost finished with a most awesome trade! For Nissi of Sapo Verde, some pretty longies using Western Sky Knits "Foxes" colorway. I'm so excited to get my set from her talented hands! Still working up the hat which had to take a backseat for a few while I finished up some itty bitty things for a special stocking coming up that I will mention later on. ;)

This week I took a day to knit up a Hudson Hat as a gift for my little guy Jackson's friend Gabriela. I apparently procrastinated completely because I knit it up the day before we were getting together. Eep! My eyes were bleary after concentrating on it for so long. It was a really fun knit though and I'd love to make some for my family too! Here's how Gabriela's hat turned out. I only had the morning of to photograph it and it was raining out. Yick! Sorry about the awful photo.

On another note - I've been thinking about merging my "family blog" to this one since, well, I haven't updated my personal blog in ages! So if you start hearing more about us and seeing photos of more than just longies, be a nice captive audience now, kay? ;)

First longies of the New Year

Happy New Year! We're a few days in now and I hope everyone is enjoying 2009 so far.

Buffy's scrappies went out on Friday, so they should be arriving any time now!

We went to visit my brother and his family in VA for the New Year and I brought some work with me. :) It was fun showing my 6 year old niece Madeline some knits. :) In return I learned all about American Girl dolls! Quiz me, I'll show ya! ;)

I'm working on a couple itty bitty special things for a very exciting stocking coming up. More details to come soon! It's midnight here now and well, I should be in bed! G'night!
